Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: April 28, 2025
Section 1: Payment Policies
Consultation fees are $45 and must be paid in full when booking to secure the appointment. While this fee is non-refundable, it will be credited toward the client's first training session upon enrollment in a program. For training sessions, invoices for standard bookings are issued at least three business days before the session, with payment required at least 24 hours in advance to confirm the appointment. For short-notice bookings, made within three business days of the session, invoices are sent immediately, and payment must be completed within 12 hours. Appointments remain unconfirmed until payment is received; unpaid sessions may be canceled or reassigned to other clients. Payments can be made via credit card, debit card, or PayPal, with an option for PayPal's "Guest Checkout" for those without an account. Receipts are issued automatically via PayPal upon successful completion of the transaction.
Section 2: Cancellation and Rescheduling
Clients may cancel or reschedule a session by providing written notice at least 24 hours in advance. If this requirement is met, no penalties apply, and prepaid fees are credited toward a future session. Cancellations made within less than 24 hours are considered late, resulting in a $25 fee or forfeiture of the session fee, barring emergencies. For short-notice bookings, cancellations must be made at least 12 hours prior to the session start time to avoid penalties. Clients may reschedule short-notice bookings once without incurring fees, provided more than 12 hours’ notice is given, and the new session occurs within five business days.
Section 3: Refund Policy
Payments for services are non-refundable. However, cancellations made with adequate notice, as outlined in Section 2, may result in payment being credited toward a future session. Refunds may be considered for exceptional circumstances, such as medical emergencies or unforeseen life changes. These requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and Southeast K9s reserves the right to determine eligibility and resolution.
Section 4: Client Responsibilities
To ensure productive and safe training, clients are responsible for providing a distraction-free environment by removing hazards, animals, or excessive noise. Active participation in sessions, adherence to trainer instructions, and consistent at-home practice are crucial for achieving results. Clients must disclose any known behavioral or health issues, including aggression, reactivity, or underlying medical conditions, so training plans can be tailored accordingly. Failure to disclose such details may jeopardize the safety and effectiveness of training.
Section 5: Liability Release
Southeast K9s is not liable for injuries, damages, or losses caused by a client’s dog during or outside of training sessions. Clients are fully responsible for their dog’s behavior and must indemnify and hold Southeast K9s harmless for any related claims, including property damage, medical expenses, or legal fees.
Section 6: Health and Vaccination Requirements
All dogs must have up-to-date core vaccinations, including Rabies, Distemper, and Parvovirus, and must not exhibit signs of contagious illnesses. Dogs with health conditions affecting their ability to participate safely must be cleared by a veterinarian prior to training. Clients must notify Southeast K9s of health concerns immediately to ensure sessions are managed appropriately.
Section 7: Session Guidelines
Sessions begin and end at the scheduled times, and late arrivals may result in reduced session time. Clients working with aggressive or reactive dogs may be required to use appropriate management tools, such as muzzles or head collars, as recommended by the trainer. Adherence to these guidelines ensures a safe and effective training experience.
Section 8: Short-Notice Bookings
Short-notice bookings, defined as sessions scheduled within three business days, require immediate payment within 12 hours of booking. Cancellation or rescheduling of short-notice appointments must occur at least 12 hours in advance to avoid forfeiting payment. Exceptions for emergencies may be granted at Southeast K9s' discretion.
Section 9: Media Release
Photos, videos, recordings, and session transcripts may be used for training analysis, education, or marketing. Clients retain the right to opt out by submitting a written request before the session. Southeast K9s ensures privacy and data security for all collected media and transcripts, which are exclusively used to improve services and promote the mission.
Section 10: Terms Acceptance
By booking services, clients confirm they have reviewed and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. Southeast K9s reserves the right to update these terms and will notify clients of any significant changes.
