Policies
I want this process to feel clear, respectful, and straightforward from the beginning. These policies are here to help set expectations around booking, payment, communication, and services so you know what to expect when working with Southeast K9s.
Getting Started
All new behavior cases begin with an Initial Behavior Consultation. This first appointment is the starting point for understanding what is going on, identifying the most important concerns, and deciding what support makes the most sense from there.
Pricing and Payment
Pricing is listed publicly so you can understand the cost of services before booking. The Initial Behavior Consultation is $295. A $75 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve that appointment, and the deposit is applied to the total cost of the consultation.
Any remaining balance is due according to the payment terms provided at booking or invoicing. Continued support services are available after the initial consultation when appropriate for your case.
Deposits
A deposit is required to reserve your Initial Behavior Consultation. This deposit is non-refundable. If the appointment takes place, the deposit is applied to the total cost of the consultation.
Scheduling and Availability
Appointments are offered based on current availability. Services may be provided in person or by Zoom, depending on what is safest and most practical for your dog and household.
Cancellation and Rescheduling
Please provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations, missed appointments, or repeated last-minute schedule changes may result in forfeiture of fees or limits on future booking availability, as outlined in the signed service agreement.[perplexity]
Intake and Forms
After booking, you will receive confirmation along with the contract and intake materials that need to be completed before the appointment. The intake process is designed to gather the information needed to make the consultation productive without asking for unnecessary paperwork up front.
Communication Between Sessions
Support between sessions is intended to help with scheduling, brief clarifications, and moving the process along appropriately. Ongoing case work, extensive troubleshooting, or new concerns may require a scheduled follow-up appointment so we can give the issue the time and attention it deserves.
Session Recording and Notes
Some sessions may be recorded for note-taking, case documentation, or service support. This may include Zoom sessions and, when appropriate, in-person sessions. Consent may be obtained at the time of recording or through signed service documents.
Behavior and Safety
Behavior work involves living, learning beings and often includes risk. Clients are responsible for providing accurate information about behavior history, bite history, safety concerns, medication, and relevant household factors so services can be delivered as safely and appropriately as possible.
No Guarantee of Results
No one can ethically promise a specific result in behavior work, and I do not guarantee particular outcomes. What I can offer is a thoughtful, evidence-based process, clear communication, and practical support as we work to improve safety, welfare, and day-to-day life for you and your dog.
Veterinary Care
Behavior concerns can be affected by pain, illness, medication, and other medical factors. Southeast K9s does not provide veterinary diagnosis or treatment, and medical concerns should be discussed with your veterinarian.
Right Fit and Scope of Service
Services are behavior-focused and offered when the case is an appropriate fit. If a case falls outside the appropriate scope of service, referral to a veterinarian, veterinary behaviorist, or another qualified professional may be recommended.
Agreement to Policies
Booking or participating in services does not replace the need to review and sign the full client services agreement when required. These website policies are intended as a general overview, and the signed agreement governs the service relationship in full.
